Activities & Demonstrations
Cyber Threats to the Aerospace Ecosystem
Time: All three days full time, except when Scribbs is giving his talk
Description: Join Stephen “Scribbs” Scarbrough for an interactive discussion about vulnerable critical infrastructure components at airports and aerospace gateways. He’ll dig into the unique threat vectors and demonstrate the vulnerabilities created by the explosive growth of smart technologies across the aviation ecosystem. Afterwards, join Scribbs in the Aerospace Sandbox for a hands-on demonstration of these systems and vulnerabilities and to learn more about the efforts underway to protect critical airport infrastructure.
Boeing Product Cybersecurity
Time: All 3 days full time
Description: Boeing’s product cybersecurity experts will be hosting an information booth in the RSA Sandbox for all comers. This year’s theme is Myth Busters. Come chat with the experts, learn about airplane cybersecurity and play with an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).
Flying with a hacked Electronic Flight Bag
Time: All 3 days full time
Description: Come take the controls of Pen Test Partners’ immersive A320 simulator with an instructor & experience what happens when EFB data is tampered with. You’ll experience delayed rotation, runway excursions and tailstrikes in the safety of a sim. Then, we’ll see how experienced pilots would deal with these incidents and mitigate risk to passengers and the airplane.
Have a go at our ‘spot’ landing competition too; see if you can avoid running off the end of the runway when a hacked EFB gives you the wrong autobrake and Vref speeds.
Hack-A-Sat 3: Learn. Space. Faster.
Time: All 3 days full time
Description: A space cybersecurity prize challenge sponsored by the US Air Force and Space Force. Come learn how Hack-A-Sat is building a global alliance of hackers, researchers and everyday enthusiasts who nerd out on hacking and securing the future of space.

Overview
Aerospace is a cornerstone of our global infrastructure and economy. While passenger safety is at an all time high, the increasing adoption of connected technologies exposes aircraft, airports, and the interdependent aerospace ecosystem to new types of risks. The consequences of cybersecurity failure can impact human life and public safety; a crisis of confidence in the trustworthiness of air travel can undermine economic and (inter)national security.
Our Values
The aerospace industry, security researchers, and the public share a common goal: safe, reliable, and trustworthy aviation and space operations.
Our Goal
The Aerospace Village is a diverse community of hackers, engineers, pilots, policy leaders and more from across both the public and private sectors. We believe the flying public deserves safe, reliable, and trustworthy air travel, which is highly dependent on secure aviation and space operations.
Our Mission
Build, inspire, and promote an inclusive community of next-generation aerospace cybersecurity expertise and leaders.
